DAVE AND JOHN ARE FINALLY IN THE SAME PANEL
ITS BEEN 8131 PAGES
BUT WE”VE DONE IT KIDS
I just imagine this person with walls full of tally marks.
Every panel the two weren’t together, there was another mark made. At first it was just the space beside their desk, a patch of wall, no big deal.
Eventually, that entire wall was covered. Each set of marks is a little more shaky and desperate than the last. Every update leaves them a little more drained.
A second wall is covered with marks, then a third. The marks are wild and crooked, some of them are huge and some of them are tiny. You can tell when there was a flash because the marks leading up to it spread out just a bit from the updates getting scarce.
The most recent marks are close together, almost a solid bar near the floor. As John zaps from location to location, mark after mark is made with feverish intent. They know it’s coming, the panel where the boys are reunited. They can feel it in their knees, crouched on the floor drawing line after line just above the baseboard.
“8127, 8128, 8129, 8130, 8131, Wait this one’s a flash …. HOLY SHIT YES”
They drop their marker and stain the carpet.
